My new iStock images
Mar 30, 2009Great news! I have been accepted by iStockphoto as a contributor to their image bank, based on my digital illustrations. Here are some images that I have just completed.
I’ve noticed that while every stock library is spewing Easter eggs, there are few (if any) quality images of Passover, which is coming up next week. This holiday is also known as “The Festival of Spring”, and there are numerous blessings over wine - hence the flowers and wine goblet.

Here is the brush that I used for the top image of leaves. It’s effective for quickly simulating an area of greenery. The hues and vibrancy of the individual strokes change while you paint, giving it a realistic effect.

Easter Eggstravaganza
Mar 19, 2009- Filed under: Creative, Scrapbooking
OK, I should take a copywriting course! With Easter eggs all over the net, I decided to create my own line of freshly designed eggs. Maybe I’ll even put some up for sale here, too.
Once I have the basic egg shape, I use my decorative brushes for painting them on. TIP: It is helpful to duplicate your more popular brushes and just rotate them. That way, when it comes to painting them on, you don’t need to paint and then rotate, as all options appear as thumbnails in the Brushes pallette.

Intricate
Mar 10, 2009Here’s my take on this week’s Illustration Friday theme “intricate”.
It’s more of a graphic than an illustration, and I created it with close attention to each layer, working very intricately with the settings of the photoshop brushes and layer effects. (I wonder if there’s a market for this kind of image? I really enjoyed making it but there must be lots of people out there doing similar stuff.)
I’m giving away the two brushes that I used for the “bubble” effect, ie. the hexagon and star shaped scatter brushes.
