3 Magical Heart BrushesFeb 12, 2009
I’ve compiled a list of 10 magical – and useful – photoshop brushes that I have made recently. Being dynamic brushes, they do some pretty amazing tricks – they twist and turn, change color and easily fill large areas of a canvas. Most importantly, they are attractive and perfect for Valentine’s Day cards and scrapbook layouts.
1. Floral Hearts
This brush simulates graceful vines, interspersed with hearts. The color dynamics are programmed to give the effect of light and shade, so when you paint over the same area, the brush strokes appear almost metallic. When painting on a background with a gradient, as in the example below, it makes the colors stand out in an almost 3D effect. I painted lightly over the pink heart area, and densely over the orange background with an orange foreground color.
2. Powder Puffs
This is a very soft paint brush, which gives a subtle, powdery effect. The brush stroke combines various different elements, and the elegant swirls bring out the related colors of the brush stroke to simulate a satin-like effect.
This brush gives a modern, clean effect of curly lines that rotate and change color. Great for large background areas or for coloring inside shapes, as in this example of a heart.

Flower Petals Dynamic Brush SetNov 19, 2008
If you downloaded the free Flower Petals brushes and liked them, here’s an even more attractive brush set. Using those brushes, I tweaked and changed the various color, angle, opacity and size variations until I came up with a fabulous set of dynamic brushes. Use these strings and scatterings of different flowers to decorate your Christmas designs and papers. They work great as backgrounds or as frames for anything scrapbook-related, too.
